Obsessed With Ghana Braids

Ghana braids

I decided I wanted to grow out my hair relaxer because, to be honest. I was tired of the constant burns, and having to deal with scabs in my scalp after getting my hair done.

I was sure that I wanted to wear braids but did not want to endure the 6-8 hour process that is installing box braids. I wanted cornrows in a bun. Now consulting my hairdresser I asked for big plaits that could then be tied up and shaped in a doughnut bun.

Initially I did not ask for Ghana braids but the lady was Ghanaian so she just plaited it that way anyway. This hairstyle made me realise that I am my hair, I felt regal and proud to rock my hair in such a different style. I have now begun to wear this style more often.
