Queen of the performance throne Beyonce always knows how to put on a good show. This was my first time seeing the diva live and I have to say chick works hard,10 years later and still making it look effortless.
The proof is in the pudding and Mrs Carter is set to make a neat change from her hour and a half set as she travels the globe promoting her new visual album.
I must say I had two disappointments, one was with standing. Never again do I want to stand at a concert tears were literally in my eyes from the pain in the balls of my feet. Secondly i was disappointed with the length of the show as from previous tour dvd Beyonce offered alot more variety in terms of the number of songs. She missed grown woman and her Destiny Child melody which I was eagerly awaiting.
I waited in line from around 4pm the doors for the show opened at 6.30 Beyonce came on a little after 9. Standing during concerts is always a varied experience but this time standing was least enjoyable. Negatives based on the hot sweaty bodies standing in between my view of the star and also the fact it is so squashed with people from behind attempting to get closer there was not enough room for me to dance or even move at times. It most definitely hampered my experience.
I was surprised because Beyonce is rather petite, I was literally on my tip toes trying to glimpse the star.I stood wishing I was not a part of the crowded section and got professional seats due to my blog writing but hey the blog is not that successful yet so it was a mere dream.
Although being part of the crowd, at times the act felt like a pantomime but then I guess she is in character. With thousands of fans hungrily awaiting to video record your every move Mrs Carter had to make sure her show is consistent.
Opening with Run the world in an Emilio Pucci body suit and red knee high boots that fiercely accentuated every kick to the beat of the music.
She performed the hit drunk in love in this beautiful embellished nude cat suit, her vocals on this song now so polished that even straddling the chair managed to perk and shake her booty.
Partition set tongues wagging, matching the crazy horse choreography from her video, she sizzled it up again in an Emilio Pucci gem, body suit. The timing of her moves so in sync she rode the chair like a bukky rodeo horse. I held my breath as she flung her head back and done some real risky moves on a chair in front of that many people, what a professional. She had everybody in that arena aroused not just her husband.
Skipping her regular destiny child melody that I was so eagerly waiting to see she sung xo in one of my favourite Balmain printed play suit.
Usually she does something theatrical when moving from the main stage to her B stage, the singer choose to walk through the section with the crowds at the side. Finally getting my chance to glimpse her up close, I felt bad looking into her blood shot eyes. She touched couple hands held her mic for fans to sing the words and smiled, what more could I have asked for?
She is Queen of Jay Z’s throne and from the screams of 80,000 fans at the 02. She is pretty much the queen of london selling out 6 shows. Mrs Carter did not dissapoint
